Music
Now that the dog days of summer have passed (in most places, that is — it’s still hot as heck down in Texas!), here’s some tunes to help make it through the natural slowing of pace and changing of colors.
From the first lines of Like Summer’s “Soon” (“I can feel the Autumn coming on / Summer’s restlessness will soon be gone…”) to the soulful crooning of The Avett Brothers (“November shadows shade November change / November spells sweet memory, the season blue remains…”), these songs reflect — at least in this blogger’s humble opinion — a Setlist for Autumn.
Throw in a little worship of the God of the changing seasons, some introspective instrumentals, and a great mashup of Dorrough’s “Ice Cream Paint Job” + boogie from Fela Kuti, and you have my collection of Fall tunes for your listening pleasure.
Enjoy.
